Applies to the mobile application TUVAMBES GeoCam : GPS Camera (package com.tuvambes.geocam), distributed via Google Play to users worldwide, and to the online checker at tuvambes.in/geocam/verification.
These Terms of Service and End User License Agreement (“Terms” or “Agreement”) are the legally binding agreement between you and TUVAMBES Technologies (a division of TUVAMBES Enterprises) for your download, installation and use of the TUVAMBES GeoCam app (the “App”) and related services. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1.Who we are & acceptance
The App is developed, published and copyrighted by TUVAMBES Technologies, a division of TUVAMBES Enterprises. TUVAMBES Technologies is the technology division of TUVAMBES Enterprises and builds the company's software and IT solutions, including this App. In these Terms, “TUVAMBES”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer collectively to TUVAMBES Technologies and TUVAMBES Enterprises.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement. Your use of the App confirms that you have read, understood, and accepted them. Your download and use of the App are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
2.Eligibility & availability
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and legally able to form a binding contract to use the App. If you are 13 or older but under that age, you may use the App only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf. The App is not intended for children under 13, and they must not use it.
The App is offered worldwide through Google Play, but it may not be available, or fully functional, in every country, and some features depend on services or hardware that vary by region and device — for example Dual camera and AR measure (see Disclaimers). You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you, and you may not use the App where doing so would be unlawful.
3.Your licence to use the App
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own lawful personal or business photography, in accordance with these Terms and the rules of the app store you obtained it from. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, resell, sublicense, rent, or create derivative works of the App, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law.
4.Permissions & privacy
The App requests only the device permissions its features need — camera, microphone, location (while in use only), storage/photos, and network — and, only if you connect Google Drive (backup on Pro; restore and download on any plan), Google's permission to see your Google account's email address and to use only the files the App creates in your Google Drive. You control these in your device settings; some features will not work without the permission they require. How we handle data — and the few cases where information leaves your device — is explained in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
5.Maps & Google Maps Platform
The map placed on your capture is provided using the Google Maps SDK for Android (Google's standard road map), rendered on your device. It is always stamped whole and never smaller than the size that keeps the Google logo legible, in every photo and video; GeoStamp templates can't go below it (the map size, GeoStamp width and overall size are limited together). The map is the image Google's SDK returns for a map view laid out at the map's own size: the App places it whole and evenly scaled — never cropped, cut, edited or redrawn — and never draws, resizes, moves or covers the Google logo or attribution, which appear exactly as Google drew them (Google sets the logo at 16–19 dp in the map view). This holds at every photo and video quality, including 8K and 60 fps (Full HD and 4K) on phones that support them: for the largest files the whole GeoStamp, map and logo included, is scaled up evenly — a larger map is never requested from Google for it, and the map view stays within the same size range. Each capture records the map image's size in pixels, its map view and zoom, and this placement in its details and signed record. The GeoCam watermark sits just outside the GeoStamp, above where its text starts and away from the map, never over it. Your use of map content is subject to these Terms and to the Google Terms of Service, the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy. You agree that:
- You will not remove, hide, crop, or alter the Google logo, imagery credits, or other attribution that appears on the map in your capture.
- You will not use the App to scrape, extract, cache, index, or store Google Maps content beyond the single stamped capture on your device, nor use map content to create or improve a competing mapping product.
- Map imagery is provided for general informational display only and may be inaccurate or out of date; you will not rely on it as a survey-grade or authoritative record.
- Map markers show the GPS positions saved with your captures. Captures within about 20 metres of each other share one marker, so a marker can stand for nearby but different spots. Markers are not verified addresses, boundaries or survey points.
- Open in Google Maps hands a place's coordinates to Google Maps (its app or website), a third-party service under Google's terms. We are not responsible for its content, routes, or availability.
6.Acceptable use
You are solely responsible for the content you capture, keep, and share. You agree that you will:
- Use the App and your captures only for lawful purposes and in line with the laws that apply to you — including photography, privacy, publicity, data-protection, and surveillance laws in your location.
- Obtain any consent required before photographing or recording other people or private property.
- Remember that Dual camera also photographs and films whoever faces the screen (the front camera), and on phones that run both cameras together shows them live. Make sure the people in front of either camera know and agree before you take the photo or start the video.
- Not use the App or captures to harass, defame, deceive, stalk, impersonate, or infringe the rights of others.
- Not forge, alter, or remove the GeoStamp, timestamps, map, attribution, authenticity signature or custody log — or falsify your phone's clock or location — to misrepresent where or when something happened.
- Take responsibility for any drawings, shapes, or text you add with photo mark-up, and not use them to mislead or to infringe the rights of others. The App keeps mark-up off the GeoStamp, including its map and attribution.
- Take responsibility for where you place measurement points and for the reference length you enter, and not present a measurement as more precise or more official than it is.
- Use as a Before photo (Ghost overlay) only a photo you took or have the right to use, and not present a Before & after made with a photo picked from your phone as if both photos were GeoCam captures.
- Upload to Google Drive only content you have the right to store there, and follow Google's terms and policies for what you keep in your Google Drive.
- Not misuse the online checker on our website — for example with automated or bulk uploads, attempts to overload it, to get around its limits, or to interfere with its security.
- Not attempt to disrupt, misuse, or gain unauthorised access to the App or any connected service, and not use the App in violation of any applicable export-control or sanctions laws.
7.Accuracy of location, time, direction & measurements
8.Language & translation
9.Media authenticity feature
The App cryptographically signs your captures and can check them on the device, entirely offline. This feature is a technical aid, not a legal guarantee. A check gives one of four results:
- “Verified” — the file was signed by the official App on a genuine phone and has not changed since GeoCam saved it. If the only difference is that the phone hid the location in the file's standard details (Android may do this when another app opens or shares a file), the result is still Verified, with a note; the signed location stays in the record.
- “Verified – Mark-up”, “Verified – Measurements” or “Verified – Mark-up & measurements” — as Verified, but mark-up, measurements or both were added in the App before saving. The result confirms the file has not changed since it was saved — not that the marks, text or measurements on it are accurate.
- “Modified” — the file carries a genuine GeoCam signature, but its picture or video, its signed record, or the location written in its details was changed after it was signed. It shows that a change was made, not who made it or why.
- “Unverified” — the App could not confirm where the file came from: it has no signature (for example because a chat or social app re-compressed it), it was not signed by the official App on a genuine phone, the signing key was withdrawn, the signing phone reported its security as off (bootloader unlocked or unverified software), or the file is damaged or in a format or version the App can't check. Unverified is not an accusation that a file is fake.
Please also note:
- Before photos picked from your phone. A Before photo picked from your phone is not a GeoCam capture and carries no GeoCam signature; the App does not check where, when or by whom it was taken. An After photo's signed record shows only that it was taken against that photo (on Pro, with the photo's SHA-256 fingerprint) — not that the Before photo is genuine.
- What a result does not show. A result shows whether a file matches the signature GeoCam made when it saved it, and what the signed record states. It is not, by itself, proof that what is depicted is true or that the scene was not staged.
- Time and location in the signed record come from your phone. Satellite or network time, when recorded, is an independent reference the phone held at capture, and a mock-location (fake GPS) flag is recorded when the phone reports one. The App cannot detect every way a phone's clock or location can be falsified.
- A Dual camera photo or video is put together on your device from the rear and front cameras, and its signed record notes that it is a dual-lens capture; each file of a Portrait + landscape pair notes that it is one of the pair.
- Originals. With Keep the original when editing on, the photo as captured is kept and signed beside a marked-up or measured copy, and the edited copy's record links to it. Keep the files as GeoCam saved them: a copy re-saved or compressed by another app can't be checked.
- Custody log, reports and evidence packages. The custody log records only what happens to a capture inside the App on your phone; it can't record what happens to copies after they leave the App. Verification reports and evidence packages are produced by the App on the checking device; they are not certificates issued by TUVAMBES, which never receives your files. The checking method is published at tuvambes.in/geocam/verification so that others can check files independently.
- Use as evidence. Whether a capture, result or report is admissible in a court or other proceeding, and the weight it carries, is for that court or authority to decide under its own rules. We do not guarantee that any capture, result or report will be accepted. Nothing in the App or in a report is legal advice. Some proceedings require a certificate or statement by a person — for example a certificate under Section 63 of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 in India, or a certification under Rule 902(13) or 902(14) of the US Federal Rules of Evidence — which a report may support but does not replace.
- Online checker. Anyone may use the online checker at tuvambes.in/geocam/verification to check GeoCam files, within its limits (file size and number of checks). The file is uploaded to our server, checked, and deleted immediately after the check; we keep neither the file nor the result (see the Privacy Policy). You must have the right to upload the file, and must not upload unlawful content or use the checker for anything other than checking files. Its results have the same meaning and limits as in the App. We may change, limit or suspend the checker at any time and do not guarantee that it is always available.
- A signed capture carries a record of when and where it was captured and of the phone that signed it (see the Privacy Policy). You decide who you share the original file with.
- You must not present a verification result or report in a misleading way, or try to make a file appear verified when it is not, and you should not rely on a result as the sole evidence for legal, insurance, or safety decisions.
10.Subscriptions, billing & refunds
The App offers three plans — Free (ad-supported), Plus, and Pro. Paid plans (Plus and Pro) are sold and billed through Google Play under its terms, using the payment method on your Google account, in your local currency where supported. You can keep using the Free plan without subscribing.
- Plus and Pro are annual, auto-renewing subscriptions, billed once a year. The price, the billing period and any offer are shown in the App and on Google Play's purchase screen before you confirm; the price on Google Play's purchase screen is the price you pay.
- Launch offer. A new subscription bought by 31 January 2027, by someone who has not subscribed to that plan before, is charged the launch price for its first year only; it then renews every year at the regular annual price. Google Play decides who is eligible, and the App shows the offer only when Google Play offers it to you.
- Subscriptions renew for the same period at the regular price then in effect unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- No free trial is offered at present. If one is offered later, its length, the price after it and how to cancel will be shown before you confirm, and you will not be charged if you cancel before the trial ends.
- Prices in India are in Indian rupees and include GST. Elsewhere, Google Play shows the price in your local currency, including any taxes it collects, and it may differ from the rupee price.
- Changing plan. Moving from Plus to Pro during your subscription year replaces your Plus subscription in Google Play: Pro starts at once, you pay only the prorated difference for the rest of the current period, and your renewal date stays the same — you are never billed for both plans. To move from Pro to Plus, cancel Pro in Google Play; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, and can then subscribe to Plus. Nothing you made is deleted when you change plan: templates, collections, your logo and settings above your new plan are kept and come back when you upgrade again; while on the lower plan, the App uses the nearest setting your plan allows.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription any time in your Google Play account settings (in the App, Manage subscription in Settings and on the Plans screen opens it); cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Prices, plans, and included features may change; we will make the current terms available in the App and store listing before you purchase, and price changes apply only to future renewals.
- Refunds and cancellation rights are handled by Google Play under its policies and by any mandatory consumer-protection or withdrawal rights you have under your local law (for example, statutory withdrawal rights for consumers in the EU/UK). We do not separately process store payments or refunds.
- Plan-specific terms. The App shows the terms that apply to your plan. When you move to a plan with more features (for example from Free to Plus or Pro), the App shows the terms for that plan again, and you accept them before the camera opens; moving to a plan with fewer features does not require a new acceptance. The App keeps a note of the version, the plan and the date and time you accepted on your phone, shown under Settings › Terms & Privacy.
- If a paid plan lapses, premium features are disabled and the App continues to work at the free tier. New Google Drive backups pause (they continue if you subscribe again); your files in Google Drive stay yours, and on any plan you can still download captures kept only there and restore your backups to the App.
11.Advertising
The free version of the App may display ads through Google AdMob — banner ads and a full-screen ad after some saved captures or when you open or return to the App. Ad partners may process a resettable advertising identifier and limited technical data under their own policies. Where the law requires consent for personalized advertising (for example, in the EEA and UK), personalized ads are subject to that consent; you can change your choice in the App under Settings › Privacy › Ad privacy choices, manage ad personalization in your device settings, or upgrade to a paid plan to remove ads. If your consent status cannot be checked, no ads are requested. See the Privacy Policy.
12.Intellectual property
The App, including its software, design, name, logos, and the “TUVAMBES” and “TUVAMBES GeoCam” brands, is owned by TUVAMBES and protected by intellectual-property laws worldwide. © TUVAMBES Technologies (A division of TUVAMBES Enterprises). All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Your content is yours. The photos and videos you capture belong to you. We claim no ownership of your captures and, because the App is on-device, we do not receive them.
Keeping your captures. Captures are kept in the App's private storage until you save them to your phone's photo gallery, share or export them, or back them up with Google Drive backup (Pro). Captures kept only inside the App are deleted if you uninstall the App or clear its data, and the App does not back them up unless Google Drive backup copies them. Deleting a capture — or a collection together with its captures and sub-collections — removes it from the App permanently and cannot be undone; copies you saved to your phone gallery, shared, exported (such as PDF reports) or uploaded to your Google Drive are not affected. You are responsible for keeping copies of the captures you want to keep.
Google Drive backup. With Google Drive backup on (Pro), the App copies to your Google Drive the captures you choose in Settings › Storage — photos, videos, the kept originals and the camera's own photos, and all captures or only chosen collections — and any captures you select in the Gallery; every capture stays on your phone. Only with Free up phone space on does the App remove its own copy of a backed-up capture from its private storage, after Google Drive confirms the backup byte for byte, keeping a small preview; it never removes a copy you saved to your phone's photo gallery. After that, the capture can be brought back to the App only from your Google Drive: if you delete or change it there, lose access to your Google account or disconnect, the App cannot recover it. Restore from Google Drive (any plan) downloads the captures the App put in the Google Drive you connect and that are not in its gallery, checking each one's GeoCam signature; it does not change your Drive. The App uses only the files it creates in your Drive, deletes nothing there except a copy that arrived damaged during a backup (moved to the Drive trash and sent again), and backs up over Wi-Fi only unless you allow mobile data (your operator may charge for data).
Open-source software. The App includes open-source software used under its licences; the licences are listed in the App under About › Licences.
Third-party trademarks. Google, Google Maps, Google Drive, Google Play, Google Translate, ARCore, AdMob and ML Kit are trademarks of Google LLC. TUVAMBES and GeoCam are not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
13.Third-party services
The App relies on third-party services for certain features (Google Maps, your OS geocoder, Google Play services for the in-app “turn on location” prompt, Google AdMob and Google's consent message, Google Play Billing, Google ML Kit on-device translation and barcode scanning, Google Play Services for AR, and — only if you turn it on — Google Drive with Google's account authorization). This application runs on Google Play Services for AR (ARCore), which is provided by Google and governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Your use of those features is also subject to the relevant provider's terms and privacy policies, listed in the Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their availability may change. Google Drive is provided by Google under the Google Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy; files you upload there are stored by Google, use your Google storage, and are under your control in your Google Drive. The App's use of Google user data adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements (see the Privacy Policy).
14.Disclaimers
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any location, map, map marker, time, translation, or authenticity result will be accurate or reliable, or that any capture, verification result or report will be accepted as evidence by any court or authority, or that the online checker will always be available or free of errors. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
The Disclaimer page summarises the limits of the App's positions, directions, measurements, maps and authenticity results.
Dual camera depends on your phone. Dual video, and taking both cameras at the same instant, need a phone that can run its rear and front cameras together, and are offered only where the App supports this on that phone; there, photos are saved at the size both cameras can stream together (about 3 MP each) and Dual video at up to Full HD. Otherwise Dual camera takes photos only, as a quick burst — one camera, then the other about a second later — and video is not available while Dual camera is on. The Dual camera details screen in the App shows what your phone supports.
Google Drive backup and restore depend on Google and your network. Backups and restores may be delayed or paused (for example without Wi-Fi when you chose Wi-Fi only, when your Google storage is full, or when access must be given again), a backup is complete only when the App shows the capture in Drive, and we do not warrant that Google Drive will always be available or that a backup or restore will complete within any time. Leave Free up phone space off if you need your captures without internet access.
Video qualities depend on your phone. 60 fps (at Full HD and 4K) and 8K are offered only on phones whose camera and video encoder support them for apps — some phones record 8K only in their own camera app, and then the App says so and records up to 4K — and video stabilisation only on phones whose camera steadies the preview and the video the same way (it may crop the picture slightly, as the preview shows). 8K uses the rear camera, records large files (about 600 MB a minute), and the phone may stop or slow it when it gets hot; if 8K cannot start, the video is recorded in 4K. We do not warrant that any quality is available on a given phone or that a recording will not stop early.
Reports. PDF and Excel reports and Before & after images and videos reproduce your captures' details as recorded; they share the limits described in section 7 and are not signed originals. Check the original captures when it matters.
Portrait + landscape. The second file is cropped from the middle of the same frame, so it shows less of the scene than the first; the second video is recorded in HD. It is not available with Dual camera or at the 1:1 ratio.
Ghost overlay (Before & After). The angle guidance comes from your phone's motion sensors and compass, which can be off — especially near metal or magnets — so “Orientation matched” and the auto-shutter help you line photos up but do not guarantee the same position or view. A side-by-side image or wipe video shows two photos together; it is not itself a signed original, so check the original photos when it matters. When the Before photo was picked from your phone, only the After photo is a signed GeoCam capture.
Barcode / QR scanner. The App writes a code's contents as it reads them; it does not check what a code says, whether it is genuine or what it identifies, and it never opens links in a code. A damaged, dirty or partly hidden code may be read wrongly or not at all, so check the code shown before you take the capture. The Asset ID in a capture or report is the code that was read — confirm it against your own records before you rely on it.
AR measure depends on your phone (Free: one distance per photo; Plus: distances, paths, area, rectangles, circles and slope; Pro: also crack width, volume, cylinders and depth). AR also finds shapes by itself — a rectangle’s, circle’s or patch’s outline (Plus and Pro), a box’s or cylinder’s size (Pro, on phones that give depth) — and moves a point you add onto a nearby corner or edge; it can pick a different outline or edge than you meant, so check what it draws — adjust it or measure again — before you rely on it. It needs a phone supported by Google Play Services for AR, which Google Play may ask you to install or update. On other phones you can measure on the photo instead (in the review, from a reference of known length); volume, cylinders and depth need AR. AR measure takes photos only and is not available while Dual camera is on. We do not warrant that any measurement will be accurate.
15.Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TUVAMBES and its division, owners, and personnel will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, lost captures, missed captures, or lost profits, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) INR 1,000 (or its equivalent in your local currency). Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you, including your mandatory consumer rights and liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
16.Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless TUVAMBES from any claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from your misuse of the App, your captures, or your breach of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
17.Suspension & termination
You may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these Terms or misuse the App, or where required by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) will continue to apply.
18.Force majeure
We are not responsible for any failure or delay in providing the App caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government action, labour disputes, power or internet failures, or the failure of third-party services or networks.
19.Governing law & dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to the paragraph below, you and we agree that the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App.
We encourage you to contact us first (section 21) so we can try to resolve any concern informally. If you are a consumer, nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence, and you may be entitled to bring proceedings in your local courts; where applicable, you may also use any official online dispute-resolution mechanism available to you.
20.General
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App and replace any prior understanding on that subject.
- Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in full force, and the unenforceable part will be limited to the minimum extent necessary.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or successor (for example, as part of a reorganisation of TUVAMBES Technologies or TUVAMBES Enterprises).
- Notices & changes. We may update, change, or discontinue features of the App, and may revise these Terms as the App evolves or the law requires. When we make a material change to these Terms, we will update the “Effective” date and version and show the updated terms in the App for you to accept before the camera opens. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the current Terms.
21.Grievance & contact
Questions or complaints about these Terms, or about content and conduct in the App, can be sent to our grievance contact. We will acknowledge and work to resolve them within the timelines required by applicable law, including, in India, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it.
